For the cutting board I created a cube that was scaled in the X and Z-axis and scaled sown in the Y-axis. I then beveled the edges to eliminate the sharp edges and unwrapped the model using best planar for each side.

The vent was made using a cube with added edge loops which allowed me to select faces and push and pull the out slightly to create the dents in the ventilator. I also added and edge loop to the top of the vent and extruded the front faces to create the lip. I made another cube and scaled it in the X-direction to create the connection between the the top of the vent and the ceiling. I then unwrapped the vent using best planar.
